A 0.5 WTE (18.5 hours) vacancy for a B8A Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist has arisen within the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Service, where you will be part of a small team delivering an evidence-based therapy programme, provide supervision to Band 7 and Band 6 DBT Therapists and contribute to the further development of, and evaluation of, the service. You’ll join a highly motivated team of Psychologists, DBT Therapists and Admin staff to deliver an intensive and high quality DBT service to a low volume/high needs population of service users. You’ll be supervised and line managed by the Clinical Lead/Consultant Clinical Psychologist and you’ll be part of the South Glasgow Psychology Dept where you will benefit from support and access to CPD opportunities.
In the first year of the post you will be given the opportunity to do your Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) training (external), if you haven’t already completed this training, which consists of 10 days (five plus five days) with a range of learning tasks to be completed whilst being supported in the service.
Once established as a DBT Therapist you will be required to provide clinical placements to trainees undertaking the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology therefore you’ll have completed, or be eligible for, formal training in the supervision of others that is recognised by the DClinPsy programme.
