Children & Young People Intensive Support Practitioner Salary Band: £26,500 – £28,500 FTE per annum (pro rata) Full Time Hours: 37 per week Location: Worcester, Worcestershire Contract Type: Permanent Closing: 31st May 2026 Interviews: 5th & 10th June 2026 Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people? About the role Join ONSIDE and discover the role as a Children & Young People Intensive Support Practitioner and help transform lives at critical moments. This is a high-impact, frontline role supporting children and young people, across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, who are experiencing significant risk including; emotional distress and trauma, mental health challenges, family breakdown, risk of exclusion, offending or exploitation or crisis situations and safeguarding concerns. You will deliver intensive, trauma-informed, child-centred support, working directly with young people to build trusted, meaningful relationships, reduce crisis and risk, improve safety and stability to help children move toward brighter futures. With the support of the Safeguarding & Professional Guidance Manager, the successful applicant will manage complex cases and play a key role in safeguarding and risk management. We are looking for someone experienced in working with children and young people high in risk and complexity. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to be confident in managing risk and safeguarding children and young people with complex needs along with being knowledgeable in trauma informed practice. We understand that supporting young people in distress can be emotionally demanding, therefore this role requires resilience, emotional awareness and the ability to remain consistent under pressure and supportive in challenging situations. However, it is also highly rewarding.
