JOB ROLE
The Service Engineer will take responsibility for the repair, maintenance, servicing and commissioning of all electrical equipment supported by the company at the customers’ global sites.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Investigate customer issues and develop solutions
* Carry out inspections/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensure that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer
* Produce detailed work packages including risk and method statements for all work
* Carry out site surveys on customers’ equipment for appraisal/reporting for costings purposes
* Liaise with the Service Manager while working on overseas jobs
* Provide technical support for the existing product support engineers
* Carry out product servicing, repair and upgrades in line with our specifications
* Work safely within a hazardous environment and ensure equipment is left in a safe and working condition
* Provide a point of contact for the customer or their representative
* Comply with all company policies, procedures and work instructions, including health and safety
* Comply with and promote the company’s values and behaviours
* Carry out other reasonable duties as requested
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
* Demonstrable knowledge of high‑voltage distribution and supply equipment with good fault‑finding and repair skills
* Experience with electrical capital equipment and design
* Qualified to work in an electrical hazardous area and willing to undertake relevant training
* Ability to work with high‑level technical data with a high level of attention to detail
* Ability to work under own initiative while accurately keeping to defined plans and specifications
* Ability to prioritise workload and get it right the first time
* Ability to work independently with a good customer focus and commercial acumen
