Location: Knaresborough, HG5Pay Rate: £24.46 per hourPermanent Equivalent Salary: £46,778.70Shift Pattern: Continental Shift PatternWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Thermal Plant Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of a busy Energy from Waste (EfW) facility based at Allerton Waste Recovery Park.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience operating thermal plant, boiler systems, combustion processes, or Energy from Waste facilities within a heavy industrial environment.Key Responsibilities:Ensuring day-to-day compliance with Environmental Permit requirementsReporting and escalating any incidents or non-compliance issuesFollowing all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality proceduresSupporting site HSE initiatives and operational improvementsWorking closely with Maintenance Teams to maximise plant performanceCoaching and supporting new team members on operational procedures and complianceMaintaining accurate operational records, maintenance requests, and shift handoversSupporting plant operations during steady state, start-up, shutdown, and emergency situationsShift Pattern:2 Days / 3 Nights / 4 Off / 3 Days / 2 Nights / 5 Off / 2 Days / 2 Nights / 12 OffCandidate Requirements:Previous experience operating within an Energy from Waste facility or similar heavy process environmentExperience with combustion and boiler operationsStrong analytical, fault-finding, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively within a shift-based operational teamStrong communication and technical knowledge sharing skillsWAMITAB Level 4 Operator Competence is desirableAdditional Information:Free onsite parking availableLong-term opportunity within a highly technical operational environmentIf you are interested in this role, please apply with your CV today.TPBN1_UKTJ
