Main duties of the job The post holder will be accountable to the Nurse Director for Haematology and Specialised Cancer Services (HaSC) and Specialised Medicine and Rehabilitation (SMR) Care Groups. On behalf of the Nurse Director, they will be required to provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership and management, representing nursing within the services of the Specialised Medicine and Rehabilitation Care Group. Person specification Qualifications (General education/ further and professional • Registered Nurse or Midwife on the UK Nursing and Midwifery register. • Proven leadership skills • Educated to degree level or higher • Recognised management qualification. • Master’s level study or working towards Experience (Previous/current work or any other relevant experience) Essential criteria • Extensive post-registration experience of working effectively in a relevant multi-professional environment. • Must have been at middle management level and have significant experience in several disciplines, eg. Clinical governance, financial management, performance management, information systems and staff management, acquired through training and experience in an acute healthcare setting. • Significant senior nursing and leadership experience, demonstrating ability to manage and lead services during time sof complexity and • Knowledge of broader NHS agenda Desirable criteria • Experience of leading project work.
