Hours, Pay & Additional Benefits
Hours
* Full-time: contracted 174 hours per month
* Sleep-ins: 23:00–07:00
* 3‑week rolling rota (7 shifts in each cycle)
Pay & Enhancements
* £36,094.32 – £37,785.60 per year
* £71.28 per sleep‑in
On-call payments:
* Mon–Thurs: £20 per night
* Fri–Sun: £40 per night
Additional on‑call paid when required

Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will be a role model who leads by example and creates a consistent, nurturing environment.
You will:
-Lead shifts and provide guidance to the care team
-Mentor, support, and motivate colleagues
-Promote a positive, child‑centred, therapeutic culture
-Help develop and review individual care plans
-Support children to regulate emotions, build skills, and develop confidence
-Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and care practice
-Record important observations, incidents, and progress updates
-Build trusting, respectful relationships with children and young people
-Support behaviour management approaches and therapeutic interventions
-Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, and external agencies
-Contribute to continuous improvement across the home
-Your voice and experience will help shape both the daily running of the home and the long‑term outcomes for young people.
What We’re Looking For
You will be someone who is compassionate, resilient, and committed to transforming the lives of children and young people.
Essential:
-NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
-Experience working with children/young people in a residential setting
-Leadership or supervisory experience
-Strong understanding of child development, trauma, and safeguarding
-Ability to de‑escalate situations and manage crises
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
-A full UK driving licence
Desirable:
-NVQ Level 4 or 5 in a relevant field
-Experience supporting young people with emotional or behavioural needs
