About the role:
At NEXT we have a great opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join the team. Working within our busy Facilities department at our Next Head Office, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment for our employees and visitors.
Main tasks:
* Ensure all areas are clean and kept to a high standard.
* Demonstrate safe use of cleaning materials and chemicals abiding to COSHH
* Be responsible for vacuuming, emptying bins, cleaning surfaces, windows and washrooms as well any other cleaning duties as required.
* Cleaning and sanitising designated areas, including offices, meeting rooms, common areas, and toilets, according to established standards and schedules.
* Replenishing supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other amenities.
* Monitoring and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and reporting any shortages or malfunctions.
* Assisting with setup and cleanup for events, meetings, and conferences.
* Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and machinery, ensuring proper usage and safety protocols.
* Reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
* Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
* Collaborating with other members of the facilities team to ensure efficient operations and a positive working environment.
About you:
* Demonstrate an ability to work within health and safety guidelines
* Have a real passion and high standards for house-keeping
* Have a positive attitude and a flexible approach
* Proven experience in a cleaning role, preferably in a corporate or professional environment.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and techniques.
* Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
