Sports graduate looking for your next step?
Your degree has given you more than just academic knowledge.
Through sport, coaching, or team environments, youve likely developed confidence, communication skills, resilience, and the ability to lead - all qualities that schools value highly.
Were currently working with a range of secondary schools across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas, looking for enthusiastic Sports Graduates to join them as Cover Supervisors.
No Previous Experience In Education Is Required.
If you can motivate a group, stay calm under pressure, and bring positive energy into a room, we can help you with the rest through training, guidance, and practical school experience.
What The Role Involves
As a Cover Supervisor, youll step into classrooms when teachers are absent and help keep learning on track.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Supervising lessons using pre-prepared resources
* Keeping students engaged and focused
* Managing behaviour confidently and professionally
* Following school procedures and expectations
* Feeding back to teaching staff after lessons
This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same.
Why this role suits sports graduates
Many people from sporting backgrounds thrive in schools because they already understand:
* Leadership and teamwork
* Motivation and encouragement
* Handling pressure calmly
* Building strong relationships
* Adapting quickly to different situations
Whether youve studied sport, coached young people, or simply enjoy working in active environments, this role gives you the opportunity to transfer those skills into education.
Thinking about becoming a teacher?
A number of our Cover Supervisors go on to complete teacher training after gaining classroom experience. If teaching is something youd like to explore further, we can help connect you with local training providers and salaried pathways to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
What Youll Receive
* Flexible work options (part-time or full-time)
* Opportunities in schools across Basingstoke
* Daily pay from £115 per day (PAYE)
* Free CPD training including behaviour management, SEN, and safeguarding
* Experience and shadowing days before starting
* Continued support from a friendly and experienced team
