National Business Development Manager – Air & Ocean Freight Sales
Salary: £50,000 – £75,000 + Bonus + Car/Allowance + Commission + Benefits
Location: UK (Flexible – role is field based)
Our client is a leading independent freight & logistics group, employing over 1,000 people across a over 30 locations globally, with revenues of £300m+.
Following sustained growth in their air & sea division, they are looking to appoint 1–2 experienced Business Development Managers to drive further expansion.
The role:
This is a pure new business field sales role focused on air or ocean freight (or both, depending on your background).
* Targeting small, medium and especially medium–large strategic accounts
* Opening doors, leveraging your contacts and network to secure first meetings
* Building long-term, profitable relationships, not just quick wins
* Working closely with internal operations and trade lane teams to deliver tailored solutions
You’re not expected to bring a full book of business on day one – if you can, great – but success will be measured on your ability to win and grow sustainable accounts over time.
About you
* Minimum 3 years’ field sales experience in air and/or ocean freight forwarding
* Proven track record of winning new accounts and developing them
* Comfortable operating with mid–large customers and multiple stakeholders
* Still hungry, driven and career-focused – “sales is where I am, and where I want to be”
* Strong relationship builder.
