Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Warrington area to recruit a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
This is a long-term position starting on 23rd February 2026, continuing through to 17th July 2026, offering consistency and the opportunity to make a real impact across the academic year.

The Role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation throughout the school day
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs or support plans
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Support both academic and social development
This role would suit someone patient, consistent and confident in building positive relationships.

Requirements
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (school-based or transferable experience)
A calm, empathetic and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Experience with 1:1 support is highly desirable
