Job Description
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering work driven by excellence and integrity. We have a reputation for working on some of the UK's most high-profile projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, corporate real estate, retail, residential, aviation, and healthcare. Building long-term, sustainable relationships with key clients and supporting colleagues' career growth are integral to this role. We are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on our diverse project portfolio across education, residential, commercial, aviation, and hotel property sectors.
You will apply your professional knowledge and judgment, consulting senior colleagues for complex issues. You should communicate complex problems clearly, evaluate options, and make informed decisions. A service-oriented mindset and the ability to establish effective relationships across projects are essential.
Your Responsibilities
* Attend offices in Leeds, Derby, or Sheffield 1-2 days per week.
* Provide commercial support to the client as part of a team.
* Perform pre- and post-contract work.
* Assist in preparing various estimates based on design information.
* Agree on valuations and site measures with contractors.
* Produce monthly project reports and reports for client review.
* Agree on final accounts and produce cost estimates.
* Participate in project meetings and support contract management.
* Support project reviews and audits.
* Take ownership of work packages or projects with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Skills
* Ideally MRICS qualified or working towards APC.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software like CostX.
* Market-aware and commercially minded.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
* Energetic, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to inspire, gain trust, and motivate others.
