What’s the role?
This is a great opportunity to join the Commercial Team, responsible for managing credit risk for Shell Energy UK.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual who can perform well under pressure.
The role supports our business’ growth in the B2B space as outlined in our 10-year strategic plan.
You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in credit risk and implement improvements that benefit our business customers.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Reviewing credit submissions from front office teams and providing recommendations
* Communicating Shell Energy’s credit risk appetite and managing interactions with front office teams
* Participating in customer meetings and working with credit partners to inform credit recommendations
* Maintaining Shell Energy UK credit policies aligned with group guidelines
* Managing external credit assessments and trade credit insurance partners
* Ensuring compliance with credit assessment SLAs and related processes
* Monitoring company credit statuses and supporting teams in line with contractual terms
* Providing insights to inform credit policy and proposing improvements
What we need from you
We seek individuals with significant credit management experience, ideally within the energy sector working with large corporate clients.
Desired skills include:
* Understanding of corporate structures and financial statement analysis
* Proficiency in IT and credit risk modeling techniques
* Strong communication skills
* Degree or relevant professional qualification
* Network within financial, legal, and corporate communities, with current credit market knowledge
