About the role
Working as part of the centralised Admission Office, you will support the University’s admissions operation by processing applications for defined groups of applicants and support the work of the Admissions enquiries team. You will also assist with other admissions activity during the cycle, including over the summer results period and (for Undergraduates) during Clearing. Your work will support the University in ensuring an excellent applicant journey, with prompt, accurate and fair decision-making, in order to maximise conversion and help achieve planned numbers.
Please note that the pattern of work in Admissions means there are some holiday restrictions in the summer (especially around the UCAS Results day in August) and at the start of the academic year.
About you
You will have a friendly, welcoming demeanour and existing knowledge and experience of at least one of the three key areas: UCAS, postgraduate admissions and/or scholarships.
You will need to be organised, hard-working and possess excellent attention to detail. You should be comfortable working in a busy, pressured environment with an expectation of meeting tight deadlines.
The Admissions Team work together closely throughout the admissions cycle, so you will have demonstrable team working skills while also possessing the ability to work independently and take initiative, when required.
You will need excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
You will ideally have experience of working with people from across the globe and in dealing with those whose first language is not English.
