Job Description:
As our Environmental Health Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the company meets all health, safety, and hygiene regulations related to food production and handling. You will support our quality assurance processes and work closely with production teams to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and enforce hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards across all areas of the facility
* Conduct regular inspections and internal audits of production and storage areas
* Collect and analyze environmental swabs and samples
* Assist in the implementation of HACCP and other food safety systems
* Support investigations into contamination incidents or customer complaints
* Ensure compliance with relevant local and national environmental health regulations
* Liaise with external regulatory bodies as required
* Train staff in hygiene best practices and food safety protocols
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports
Requirements:
* Degree or diploma in Environmental Health, Food Safety, Microbiology, or a related field
* Previous experience in a food production, butchery, or meat processing environment preferred
* Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and hygiene regulations
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Flexibility to work early shifts or weekends, if required
