Role Summary
Reporting to the UK Managing Director, the Commercial Director will lead a team of c. 15 people and shape the UK commercial strategy.
As a key part of the UK leadership team, this role will contribute to long-term strategic development and optimised financial performance.
You'll drive revenue, profitability, channel/customer development and promotional execution across mainstream grocery and other core outlets. Working closely with marketing, category development, pricing, merchandising, and cross‑functional leadership, you’ll secure growth in both market share and margin.
Ideal Candidate
An experienced Sales or Commercial Director within branded Food & Drink / FMCG, with a proven ability to build senior level customer partnerships and grow profitable business with leading grocery multiple retailers. You will be resilient and results-driven, with a track record of consistently achieving and exceeding targets.
You should demonstrate strong P&L ownership, data-driven decision-making, innovation in commercial strategy, and proven capability in building and mentoring high-performing teams.
Accomplished leadership skills will also ensure you can optimise and maintain team performance. Excellent stakeholder management capabilities are vital, especially at senior and group levels.
As an ambassador for Thai Union and John West values you will foster an environment that attracts and retains talent, whilst also championing a culture that ensures revenue and profit growth are maximised.

Location: Office based 4 days per week, at John West HQ in central Liverpool.
