1:1 Tutor (In-Home / School Setting) – Dereham Area Location: Dereham and surrounding areas Hours: School hours (flexible within 8:30am–3:30pm) Type: Part-time / Contract Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in either their home or a school setting during school hours across the Dereham area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, working closely with pupils who require additional support to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their academic potential. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring sessions tailored to individual learning needs Support core subjects such as English, Maths, and other curriculum areas as required Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of needs, including SEN where appropriate Track progress and provide feedback following sessions Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals Requirements Teaching qualification (QTS) or a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience delivering the UK curriculum Experience working with children or young people (tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or support roles) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Flexible, patient, and reliable approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Desirable Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Background in education, youth work, or pastoral support What We Offer Flexible working hours during the school day Rewarding, impactful work on a 1:1 basis Ongoing support and guidance Opportunities for professional development How to Apply Please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
