Job Introduction
Are you a passionate and dynamic External Account Manager looking for your next permanent role?
We are currently seeking an experienced External Account Manager to join our Asphalt team covering areas within the South East, including Surrey, Berkshire, West London, Hertfordshire, and surrounding areas.
You will be responsible for establishing dedicated relationships with our external customers to maintain price, volume, and profit for key accounts, while enhancing product volumes and profitability through increased infiltration of VAPs. Knowledge of Asphalt would be highly beneficial.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of external accounts to meet sales, price, and profit targets.
* Identify opportunities to optimize cash flow through effective trading.
* Provide market intelligence on product demand and interest to support strategic decisions.
* Lead efforts on significant Asphalt projects to maximize Tarmac's potential.
* Collaborate with Customer Service and Shipping teams to ensure seamless operations.
* Prepare colleagues on account requirements and implement service level agreements.
* Review accounts regularly to find improvement opportunities.
* Report key metrics and performance issues to the Area Commercial Manager.
The role involves liaising with stakeholders across the business, including the Commercial Director, Managers, Site Teams, Customer Service, Accounts, Technical, and HR.
A company car is provided; therefore, a FULL UK manual driving license with no more than 6 penalty points is required. Hybrid working flexibility is available.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience:
* Managing and developing customer accounts.
* Understanding of commercial aspects within the sector.
* Cross-functional collaboration.
* Utilization of commercial tools and forecasts.
Skills / Knowledge:
* Influencing, negotiation, and change management skills.
* Strong understanding of regional markets and the competitive landscape.
* High drive and determination to succeed.
* Ability to identify customer needs and develop solutions with comprehensive product knowledge.
Location flexibility is offered, but travel within Surrey, Berkshire, West London, Hertfordshire, and nearby areas is required.
