Overview
Level 2 Teaching Assistants role at TES FE News. We require 13 Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work with students with SEN and challenging behaviour and/or severe and complex learning difficulties. We have a choice of contracts available: 32.5 hours per week, 30 hours per week or 27.5 hours per week, term time only + 5 training days.
Responsibilities
* Work with students with SEN and challenging behaviour and/or severe and complex learning difficulties.
* Support pupils’ learning environment and personal care; work alongside teachers.
* Assist with induction and training; contribute to a rewarding learning setting.
* Be energetic, fit, and enthusiastic about working with these pupils.
* Support the school’s development projects and temporary sites as needed.
Location and Pathways
* Pathway 1 (Location: Royal Lane, Hillingdon until Autumn 2026; Northwood Road, Harefield Village from Autumn 2026 onwards).
* Pathway 2 (Location: Royal Lane, Hillingdon).
Contract details
* Permanent contract (with varying weekly hours: 27.5, 30, or 32.5 hours).
* Term time plus 5 training days (39 weeks) or 39 weeks as applicable to the chosen contract.
* Hours of work vary by pathway and week; typical patterns include Monday to Friday with start times around 8.45–9.05 am and end times around 3.05–4.30 pm.
* Salary: Scale 3, approximately £19,401–£23,256 per annum depending on experience, plus SSA (£1,014–£1,198).
* Start date: ASAP.
Requirements
* NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications (GCSEs) or relevant experience.
* Knowledge of Literacy and Numeracy; assessed at interview.
* Desire to work with students with moderate and complex learning difficulties.
* Good communication skills; ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
* Positive attitude, sense of humour, and willingness to learn new skills.
* Willingness to undertake personal care of pupils.
* High standard of written and spoken English.
* Willingness to undertake driving training for the school minibus is welcomed.
