Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced team leader to manage the machining team and oversee the production process within our UK operations. This role requires expertise in machining techniques and equipment, along with strong leadership capabilities to guide the team towards efficient and high-quality production. The ideal candidate will be proactive, goal-oriented, and capable of implementing improvements to increase efficiency and standardization within the machining department. What will be your responsibilities: Direct Team Management: Manage the machining team and coordinate with the engineering team. Machining Equipment Management: Oversee all machining equipment (CNC mills and lathes, routers, lasers, water jets, conventional lathes, etc.) and tasks (sheet metal work, anodizing, dimensional control, stock management, etc.). Production Planning: Plan weekly production tasks across various stages. Team Development: Monitor and develop team members to improve performance and capabilities. Process Improvement: Develop new machining strategies to reduce machine time and create standardized production methods to reduce setup times and increase repeatability. Attendance Tracking: Monitor team attendance including entry/exit times, breaks, and task durations. Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all facilities, equipment, and tools are kept in good condition. Collaboration: Maintain positive relationships and assertive communication with colleagues from other sections. Quality Assurance: Ensure produced parts and tasks meet required quality standards. Take corrective and preventive actions when necessary. Production Deadlines: Ensure that production and delivery deadlines are met. Safety: Ensure workplace safety for team members, preventing risky behaviors and improper equipment use. Work Area Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the team's work area before, during, and after task execution. Cross-sectional Management: Manage other sections if necessary. Team Collaboration: Contribute to a proactive, focused, and united engineering team environment. Sub-contract management: Identify and manage sub-contract partners for the machined parts requested for production Communication with Engineers: Maintain clear and assertive communication with product engineers (dev) to ensure timely production delivery and adherence to deadlines and requirements. Implement Instructions: Follow instructions from the industrial manager and implement them effectively. Lead by Example: Keep the team motivated, productive, and disciplined. Profile and requirements: Education: First degree in mechanical engineering or a related subject such as aeronautical engineering or manufacturing engineering Language Requirements: Advanced proficiency in English, with proven fluency at the C2 level. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and assertive approach. Computer Skills: Proficient in basic computer tools (Word, Excel, etc.). Technical Knowledge: Expertise in machining processes. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the sector or a similar field. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making abilities. Goal-Oriented: Focused on achieving production goals and meeting deadlines. Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
