The Role
We are looking to recruit a Maternity Coordinator to join the Maternity Team at University Hospital Wishaw!
The post holder will be responsible for the organisation, coordination, and management of ward areas, community, neonatal unit, and the effective deployment of staff on a shift-to-shift basis.
The successful candidate will be involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care within all patient areas of the maternity service.
The Maternity Coordinator will act as the clinical expert and support to the multi-disciplinary team, whilst ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC.
The post holder will provide managerial support to the Senior Charge Midwife and Practice Development Midwife, whilst developing and maintaining clinical skills in practice.

What We'll Need You To Bring
* Registered Midwife with valid NMC Registration
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
* Postgraduate expertise within the specialty/area of practice demonstrating the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely and effectively
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty/area of practice
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures
* Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and CPD
* Further education/evidence of CPD in area of specialty
* Excellent team-working, leadership, listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Effective time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic IT
It would be good if you also had
* Extensive current midwifery/nursing experience
* Experience in ward management, planning, and evaluating care
* Presentation and facilitation skills
* Ability to work at a strategic level
* Car driver with full UK/EU/EEA license
