Location: Spennymoor. Contract: Permanent. Hours per week: 37.50. Working days & times: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. Salary: £24,570 - £29,503.63. This role is primarily based at Head Office with occasional travel to other LCG sites.
Role Information
As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure across the organisation. This includes diagnosing and resolving technical issues, supporting end users, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Prioritising, under the guidance of the Head of IT, tickets escalated from our managed service provider.
* Responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and IT services to ensure our staff and learners have a positive experience with IT.
* Installing/Configuring computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
* Supporting staff, face-to-face, on Teams or by email.
* Troubleshooting system and network problems, and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
* Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
* Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
* Supporting the roll-out of new applications
* Setting up new user accounts and hardware.
* Keeping up to date with technology trends.
* Ensuring an understanding of cyber security.
* Establish a good working relationship with staff and external suppliers.
* Escalate any issues or concerns to the Head of IT
* Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours

* Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times
* Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
* Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
* Experience of working with Microsoft Active Directory
* Experience of working with Microsoft Entra/Azure Active Directory
* Experience of Microsoft 365 applications and the administration of these
* Understanding of routing, switching and wireless access technologies
* Understanding of cyber security principles
* First-line IT support experience beneficial
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
Desirable Criteria
* MS-900 or AZ-900 Microsoft qualification
* Microsoft Intune experience
* Windows Autopilot experience
