Skills and Abilities:
* IT skills to research activities and events and produce colourful posters and newsletters
* Able to motivate people to attend and join activities, keeping them engaged
* Communication skills - able to speak with a variety of different people and listen to their needs
* Problem-solving - able to fix situations quickly and adjust activities as required
* Planning and organising events
* Collaboration and team working
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Compassionate and patient
Responsibilities:
* Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a care setting and support with taking residents out into the community.
* Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as games, crafts, and outings.
* Provide one-on-one support and companionship to residents who may have limited mobility or cognitive abilities.
* Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after each session.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback.
* Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator and other staff members to develop new ideas for activities.
Experience:
* Experience working in a care or recreational setting is preferred but not essential
* Experience of event planning and techniques
* Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of residents with varying levels of physical or cognitive function
* Basic knowledge of safety protocols and infection control measures in a care setting
