We are looking for a highly skilled Specialist Therapist to join our friendly, motivated and forward-thinking team.
CHCP Yorkshire Fatigue ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Service provides an assessment, diagnosis and treatment service across York, North Yorkshire, Lincs and North East Lincs.
We are accepting applications from existing Band 6 Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Nurses, or experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Nurses who can demonstrate meeting the vacancy criteria and who have a good working knowledge of ME/CFS.
This is a 15 hour per week 12 month temporary post - the hours of which can be worked flexibly across the working week (Mon-Fri, 9-5) to benefit the service and own home/work life balance. Main duties of the job
Experience of working in a community setting will be an advantage but is not essential. You will be keen to develop skills and knowledge and motivated to further your understanding of ME/CFS and related conditions.
You will be committed to supporting the patient's skills and knowledge to enable them to best manage their conditions. You will value and engage with self and peer practice review and supervision in the maintenance of gold standard practice.
CHCP Yorkshire Fatigue ME/CFS Service is committed to providing the highest quality of holistic care working in partnership with patients, their care givers and other health care providers. You will work well as an integrated member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as possessing the attributes required to work autonomously in managing your own workload.
The role will be required to offer clinical peer support across the existing therapy provision to ensure that the service meets the service user needs in line with best practice, CQC standards and legislative frameworks. You will provide clinical expertise and consultation across the service to promote the role of therapy, collaboration with the Advanced OT on initiatives and improvements, as well as support senior management in delivering of the wider service improvements.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Current professional registration in own discipline
* Degree/Diploma in a specialist area such as Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Physiotherapy
* Educated to Postgraduate level
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Working knowledge of ME/CFS and the Dysregulation Model
* Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to clinical and service area
* Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
* Specialist understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area
* Basic IT skills
* Counselling Skills
Desirable criteria
* Member of specialist interest group/network, locally or regionally
* Develop to advanced/expert understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area
Experience
Essential criteria
* Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
* Experience of multi-agency/professional working
* Experience of caseload management within specialist service area
* Evidence of promoting/supporting active patient/relative involvement/participation
Desirable criteria
* Experience of working with under 18s in a clinical or therapeutic setting
* Experience of complex caseload management within specialist service area
