Overview
Full time, 35 hours. A variety of shift patterns to be covered including weekends. Timings are 7:30am - 20:00pm.
Night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.
Birnbeck House is home for up to 13 adults with complex learning disabilities.

As a Team Leader with Leonard Cheshire you will become part of a fantastic team. You will provide effective supervision of a team of Support Workers, lead with passion and enthusiasm promoting positive outcomes for disabled people with a flexible and proactive approach.
You will ensure our customers receive the very best care, personal support and assistance with daily life tasks. Supporting our Person Centred approach, you will ensure maximum independence for our customers and helping them to achieve individual aspirations.

Responsibilities
* Supervise a team of Support Workers with effective leadership and supervision.
* Provide care that supports a person-centred approach, promoting independence and helping customers achieve individual goals.
* Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to meet the needs of the customers and their families.
Qualifications
* Ideally have a level of professional development and registration (NVQ/SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, L4 NVQ/SVQ) or willing to work towards a relevant qualification.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
* Have experience in supervising a team.
* Work flexibly and creatively with customers and their families.
* Be experienced in working within a care setting.
* Flexibility to work within rostered hours / prepared to participate in an on-call rota where required.
*We are currently under consultation proposing a change to the enhancement rates paid. If the proposal is accepted, from 1 December 2025 new enhancement rates of £1.00 per hour will only apply to night working (8pm Monday to 7am Friday) and weekend working (8pm Friday – 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-ins.
