Senior MRI Radiographer – East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust
The MRI services at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust serve and support the community across Kent. The Senior MRI Radiographer will lead MRI practice within three base sites and satellite locations such as the Community Diagnostic Centre at Buckland.

Job responsibilities
* Work as part of the MRI team and manage own practice in line with trust and national policies.
* Train, supervise and support junior staff, students and visiting trainees.
* Perform a wide range of MRI examinations, including complex clinical cases.
* Ensure MRI safety screening and maintain compliance with MHRA guidelines.
* Maintain patient records, data integrity and statistical reporting.
* Participate in audit, risk management, health and safety, research and other governance activities.
* Operate and maintain imaging equipment and Radiology Information System (RIS) / PACS.
* Support service delivery on mobile scanners and during out‑of‑hours shifts.
* Act as the authorised person for the MRI department.
* Participate in post‑graduate study if required.
Qualifications and training
* Degree in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent).
* HCPC Registration.
* Trust or National cannulation and venepuncture qualification.
* Willingness to undertake post‑graduate study in MRI or external courses.
Experience
* Minimum 3 months of full‑time MRI experience.
* Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience.
* Supervisory experience in a similar NHS multidisciplinary setting.
Clinical skill
* Experienced in Neuro, Body, Vascular, Breast and Paediatric imaging.
* Experienced in managing complex MRI protocols.
Knowledge
* Advanced MRI imaging technology and current developments.
* Up‑to‑date MRI safety practice.
* Operation of RIS and PACS.
* Complex computerised ordering systems.
Leadership skill
* Leadership and teaching experience.
* Ability to motivate and encourage staff.
* Involvement in service change programmes.
