* Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Course (Health Visiting and School Nursing) with Community Placements within London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering & Redbridge.
* Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Course (HEI, NELFT September 2026 cohort studying at City St Georges, University of London).

We offer an enabling preceptorship programme, which supports clinical governance through the development of a culture of lifelong learning and good employment practices, as well as varying forms of supervision (clinical, safeguarding, restorative).
Main duties of the job
Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Course Applications: NELFT is delighted to invite qualified nurses to undertake the above course. Candidates must hold:
* Current NMC registration for nursing or midwifery.
* Evidence of applying for NMC registration and confirmed NMC registration within two months of the start date.
* Level 7 qualification (2:2 or evidence of study at Level 7).
Students will receive the course paid for and a salary up to the mid‑point Band 5 (dependent on NHS experience). Internal candidates are requested to contact Lynn.barton@nelft.nhs.uk for further information.
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 25.05.2026. Candidates invited to interview are asked to provide:
* Academic evidence of attainment of study at Level 7 or above for review by HEI representatives.
* Evidence of recent study.
All places will be offered dependent on funding.
Job responsibilities
Probationary period: This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless they are currently part way through a probationary period or are a bank member of staff.
High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London: This post attaches a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714 to maximum £5,941 per annum; pro rata for part time).
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse.
* Evidence of continual professional development at level 6.
Experience
* Ability to support children and families to make informed decisions in relation to their health and well‑being.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for a disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Certificates of Sponsorship
Although we are a registered sponsor organisation, we can only offer sponsorship for certain roles. Check eligibility under the UKVI points‑based system. When calculating basic salary for sponsorship, high‑cost area supplement is not included to ensure fairness.

Overseas qualified nurses wishing to become UK‑based registered nurses can check eligibility through NEU Professionals. NELFT is happy to welcome overseas nurses but the application must go through the Capital Nurse London group.
