We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Cam site, near Dursley in Gloucestershire, as a Maintenance Engineer. Cam is the regional centre for Acacia Gum with different applications food as pastry improver, elasticity, freeze‑thaw, moisture control, Ice cream stabiliser, shelf‑life extension, texture systems, coatings and fibre enrichment. This is a shift‑based position, on a 3‑week rota, covering shifts between 6 am and 10 pm. There is also an on‑call rota, covering 16 weeks per annum. As part of the Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for the Cam Site, ensuring operations can continue effectively.

Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs to plant and equipment in the event of any fault or breakdown and as part of the site PPM system.
* All work on site to satisfy the Kerry Quality standards and meet the Health and Safety Act, with all areas of work kept clean and tidy.
* Assist the department in ordering spares and maintain and update records of the plant and equipment.
* Additional duties as and when required to give full cover i.e. sickness and holiday.
* Work is primarily on day shifts, but as part of the maintenance team call‑out cover, which is allocated on a rota basis, is required 24 hours, 7 days a week.
* Additional duties to qualify for the Primary Engineer payment.
* Work with external contractors and assist in their management on site, issuing and controlling permits to work where necessary.
* Work with Kerry process Engineers or any other off‑site engineering support.
* Ensure maintenance requests and PPMs are printed, completed and returned to Manager/Admin.
* Assist with Site Crisis Team/HACCP as an engineering representative as necessary.
* Provide engineering safety advice and support on projects or tasks (e.g. confined space/working at height etc.).
* Liaise with Admin personnel when ordering parts/spares.
* Report as necessary to on/off‑site management with regards to engineering issues.
* Take part in training for engineers site standards, development and/or mandatory training requirements.
Qualifications
* Previous experience within a similar role – ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrable competence within Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
* Ideally completion of an apprenticeship or a relevant qualification within Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Basic understanding of PID control systems, process automation, VFD and motor drive knowledge, steam & steam control systems.
