Job Description Based at West District Office, Sinclair Street, you will work part time, 30 hours per week. Responsibilities The purpose of this post is to assist in the provision of Assistive Technology for Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership. This will include the standard Community Alarm, enhanced telecare packages, lifestyle monitoring equipment and a growing range of assistive technology. You will provide technical and practical services for the installation, maintenance, review and repair of community alarm, telecare, lifestyle monitoring and assistive technology. You will work closely with the Social Work Department, Community Health Professionals, Service Users and Carers and the partnership’s Social Care Response Service. In addition, you will be required to liaise with various service and equipment providers. You will be expected to be an active member of a forward thinking team promoting the sustainability of assistive technology for the future. The Individual You will have experience of working with Community Care groups. You will have experience of assessing, monitoring and reviewing and understanding of issues affecting adults and older people. You will have experience of assisting members of the public who are in stressful situations. You will have knowledge of community care principles. You will have a genuine understanding, knowledge and an interest in assistive technology and good written/oral communication skills. You will have the ability to work as team member and the ability to work alone and to use own initiative. You will be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community. You will have sensitivity, patience and understanding when dealing with vulnerable people and be non-judgemental with a caring, pleasant and professional approach to the post. You will be dependable and have a reliable attitude to work with the ability to work with minimum supervision and to work under pressure. There will be a requirement for further study/training. A full, current driving licence is required. There will be a requirement to work evenings and weekends on a shift basis. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
