About Us
Martian Lawyers Club (MLC) is pushing gameplay past current limitations to unlock new levels of video game personalisation. We want our games to do what is only possible in the tabletop RPGs world: indefinite personalisation and creativity. We believe that players shouldn’t be forced to pick between the immersive power of video games and the ability to make unconstrained choices.
Our first game, Cellumancer, is a digital, roguelike creature-battler, inspired by games like Into The Breach, Inscryption, and Dwarf Fortress. Important to our game is our proprietary technology that uses recent AI breakthroughs to allow the game to automatically modify itself according to the player’s desires. This underlying auto-modding platform goes beyond simple reskins, tapping directly into the DNA of a game (its code) and modifying that as part of the core gameplay loop. The resulting experience allows any player to become a part of the process of game creation.
We are a team of game developers, designers, programmers, and researchers, who have come together to utilise our skills in a meaningful way. Our team is rapidly growing, totaling five members across three cities so far.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do from day to day:
* Organize our growth engine, including personas, tools, channels, comms with creatives
* Develop a test plan to identify the marketing that works best with auto-modding games
* Accurately track what succeeds and what fails in preparation for scaling
* Construct promotional materials, such as game teasers, that highlight our games’ capabilities
* Manage the MLC brand, including social media, content creation, and public relations
About You
Desired qualifications and experience:
* 3+ years in a marketing/promotional role in the gaming industry
* Ability to iterate on marketing strategy rapidly
* Proven ability to grow a PC game’s userbase from zero
* Experience in engineering viral videos
* Knowledge of gaming market segmentation frameworks and taxonomies
* Technical capabilities as needed to create growth hacks
* Ability to identify problems proactively and communicate those to others

Our work environment is dynamic, a mixture of in-person and remote, and gives you the space to learn from your mistakes (of which we expect many!). It is also important to say that your day-to-day work will continuously change, so be prepared to get out of your comfort zone often.
Application Process
The interview process consists of:
* A 15-minute introductory call with one of the founders
* A take home task that takes about 3 hours to complete
* A 1 hour online interview
* A final, onsite interview in Bristol
After this we send our final offer decision.
