About the Role:
We are seeking an organised and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy healthcare setting. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and efficient service while managing administrative tasks and ensuring accurate patient information is maintained. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and experience working within a healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
* Manage incoming calls, emails, and appointment bookings
* Register patients and maintain accurate records using clinical systems
* Handle patient queries and provide clear information regarding services
* Process referrals, correspondence, and general administrative tasks
* Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
* Support the wider clinical and administrative team as required
Who We Are Looking For:
Education: GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
Licenses:
* Right to work in the UK
* Valid NHS Smart Card (ESSENTIAL)
Experience:
* Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role
* Experience using GP or clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne)
* Experience handling patient interactions in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Good IT skills and confidence using healthcare systems
