A well established and highly regarded UK law firm with a strong presence in defendant personal injury litigation is seeking an experienced Defendant EL and PL Litigator to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior practitioner to take ownership of complex, high value work within a supportive and forward thinking environment. You must be authorised to conduct litigation, either as a Solicitor or CILEX with Litigation Practice Rights, to be considered for this role. The Opportunity This role focuses on handling a caseload of predominantly multi track Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims. The work is complex in nature, often involving higher value matters and technical legal issues, offering a more challenging and rewarding caseload. You will take full responsibility for your files, delivering a high quality and commercially focused service from initial instruction through to resolution or trial, supported by an experienced team and strong internal infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Manage a caseload of defendant EL and PL claims, primarily multi track and higher value matters • Handle claims from initial instruction through to trial or settlement • Deliver a consistently high standard of client service and legal advice • Advise on liability, quantum and case strategy in complex matters • Draft pleadings, witness statements and key litigation documents • Liaise with clients, experts, counsel and other stakeholders • Ensure compliance with relevant procedures, regulations and risk protocols • Contribute to team performance and maintain strong client relationships Candidate Requirements Essential: • Over 7 years’ experience handling defendant EL and PL litigation • Strong experience managing multi track and complex, higher value claims • Confident handling matters through to trial • Thorough understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Desirable: • Experience of High Court litigation • Familiarity with costs budgeting in multi-track cases • Exposure to sector specific claims such as retail or insurance led work This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator seeking to focus on more complex, high value defendant work within a respected and ambitious firm.
