North Lanarkshire Council is achieving major improvements that are transforming the area and improving the lives of residents. These developments are part of a programme of economic regeneration and growth, with the shared ambition of making North Lanarkshire the place to live, learn, work, invest, and visit.

4. Proven ability to provide clear, authoritative legal advice to senior officers and elected members on complex commercial, contractual, and property matters.
5. Awareness of current legal, transformational, and political issues affecting local government in Scotland.

6. Experience in supporting large-scale capital or development projects.
7. Familiarity with multi-agency or partnership arrangements in the public sector.
You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team currently operating a hybrid model of home-working and office-based work at the Civic Centre in Motherwell.
A satisfactory Level 2 check through Disclosure Scotland must be attained prior to commencing in this role.
This post is politically restricted in compliance with the Local Government and Housing Act .
Please note, as part of your duties and responsibilities, you will be required to participate in the Council Incident Officer standby rota, which will require you to be on standby out of office hours, for a period of one week, approximately four times a year. For this, you will receive payment in line with the Council’s Conditions of Service and full training will be provided. This will be discussed further at interview.
