Working in collaboration with the Transport Manager, the Transport Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the site and driver workforce.
Salary: £27,141 per annum
Shift: 4 on 4 off nights
Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:
* Delivery of the organisational requirements relating to drivers, depot, and yard staff.
* Attendance and coordination of first-line HR matters relating to depot and driver workforce in conjunction with Transport Manager.
* Standards of maintenance of company assets and the depot are delivered.
* Support to the Transport Manager in delivering continuous improvement initiatives through effective data analysis and communication.
* Take ownership of identifying issues and seek to provide resolutions.
* Report vehicle/trailer defects and escalate to the fleet department and relevant stakeholders.
* Complete daily risk assessments of yard and office.
* Ensure legal compliance by tracking working time directives for the driver workforce.
* Coordinate CPC driver records and ensure customer demand is proactively met.
* Manage driver resource versus vehicle requirements.
* Maintain vehicle allocation records.
* Handle staff absence and manage new starter and leaver information, including driver holiday requests.
* Assist the Transport Manager with the interview process for drivers.
* Ensure all personnel files are up to date.
* Manage driver expenses.
Qualifications
* Proven track record within the Transport and Logistics Industry.
* Understanding of Tachograph legislation and EU Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; understanding of transport in-house systems like Microlise and GTS is a plus.
* Ability to effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
