Working out of home or regional office, you will be reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager. The District Sales Manager's (DSM) primary responsibility is to ensure that district sales budgets and objectives are achieved in the area/district thus positively impacting the financial performance of the area/district for Power Transmission and Fluid Power products. It is expected this will be accomplished using the sales tools and policies provided by the Company. Key responsibilities (to name a few): The DSM is responsible for developing and maintaining sound customer and prospect relationships and possessing overall awareness of activities happening within the district that affects or could potentially affect Gates ability to sell product in the marketplace. Has decision making authority within pre-established parameters and company procedures concerning pricing, commercial conditions and technical support. Makes face-to-face calls on Distributors and OE's within the area/district on a regular basis. Works closely with Management, Application Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Coordinators and all sales support functions. Works with customers and prospects on purchasing and technical level to discuss problem areas or business opportunities. Support and attend leading industry trade fairs and regularly report on market and business activities. Must be able to perform physical elements associated with the job, including inspecting our products in not-easily accessible locations.
