Role Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to cross-functional efforts applying the ImmTAX platform or other modalities to develop treatments for chronic infections, including HIV, HBV, and EBV-associated diseases. The team participates in multiple stages of drug discovery and development, from target discovery to clinical trials.
The postholder will plan, design, and execute experiments to support the company's pipeline, ensuring project goals are met within time and budget constraints. They will demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and independence, participate in internal meetings, share findings at external scientific meetings, and build productive relationships across departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, design, and execute experiments under guidance to meet project goals within set timeframes.
2. Conduct experiments addressing key scientific questions using techniques such as NextGen sequencing, DD-PCR, qPCR, cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISpots, ELISAs.
3. Work in a containment level 3 (CL3) facility handling human viruses.
4. Analyze data, interpret results, and provide recommendations.
5. Expand scientific knowledge through literature review, conferences, peer mentoring, and seminars.
6. Work effectively within a matrixed and cross-functional team.
7. Present results at internal meetings and establish collaborations inside and outside the company.
Essential Qualifications
* PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, virology, immunology, or related discipline with 0-2 years of experience, or a BSc/MSc with significant relevant work experience.
* Experience in bench-based laboratory techniques including Droplet Digital PCR, NextGen sequencing, genomics/transcriptomics, PCR, mutagenesis, qPCR.
* Proficiency in culturing primary cells and/or cell lines.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of Immunology, HIV, HBV, EBV.
* Experience with flow cytometry, ELISAs, ELISpots.
* Viral integration site analysis.
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Genomics expertise.
* Location: Oxford, England.
Work Experience
* Experience in healthcare settings preferred.
