Job Description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to support the finance function of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and supporting budgeting, VAT, audit, and foreign currency management activities. This role requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a busy finance team.Key Responsibilities Maintain purchase and sales ledgers accurately and efficientlyPerform general bookkeeping duties and maintain financial recordsPrepare and reconcile accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are investigated and resolvedMaintain cashbooks and bank accounts, including regular bank reconciliationsProcess and post journal entries into the accounting systemAssist with budgeting and forecasting activitiesSupport the preparation and submission of VAT returnsAssist in the preparation of monthly management accountsProvide support with company secretarial duties and statutory filingsManage and monitor foreign currency transactions and balancesAssist with internal and external company audits by preparing required documentation and schedulesEnsure compliance with financial policies and proceduresSupport the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks as requiredSkills & Experience Required Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping roleStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial processesProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to prioritise workload and meet deadlinesGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience with VAT returns and management accounts preparation is desirableKnowledge of foreign currency transactions would be advantageousTPBN1_UKTJ
