Job Summary

At SG Elite Ltd, we are driving innovation in civil and geotechnical engineering across a range of sectors within the UK and Ireland.


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Lead. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our client base, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring we maintain a high quality of service to both current and future clients. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of SG Elite Ltd, while collaborating closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders.


Key Accountabilities

* Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland, establishing strong relationships with potential clients
* Confident networker with well established and strong connections with key industry decision makers
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers within target organisations
* Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and areas for potential growth
* Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives, including market penetration and revenue growth
* Communicate the value proposition of our products and services effectively to current and potential clients
* Conduct site visits and participate in team decision-making processes for future project opportunities
* Assist in the preparation of proposals and tender responses
* Support the development of sales contracts, ensuring adherence to pricing guidelines, terms, and conditions while maximising profitability
* Monitor and report on business development activities, sales pipeline, and performance
* Assist on the implementation of a CRM system to track client interactions and sales activities
* Represent SG Elite Ltd at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions, showcasing our technical expertise and growing market awareness
* Collaborate with the marketing team on the upkeep of presentations and promotional materials that effectively communicate the company’s capabilities
* Attend regular management meetings to discuss business development strategies and initiatives
* Travel as required within the UK, Ireland, and internationally


Experience, Qualifications and Skills

* Proven experience in business development or equivalent sales roles within the civil/geotechnical engineering industry
* Strong technical knowledge in relevant fields
* Demonstrated ability to convert leads into opportunities and successfully close sales
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior clients and key stakeholders
* Commercially focused with a strong understanding of financial metrics, budgets, and profit margins
* Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently while prioritising tasks effectively
* Proficient in using CRM systems and the Microsoft Office suite
* Highly organised with excellent planning skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Competent in the English language
