Procurement Supply Chain Assistant
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Procurement Supply Chain Assistant to join our well-established client in Leicester on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering a competitive salary and genuine opportunities for career development.
Shifts: Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 3:45pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:30pm
Salary: £27,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Day-to-day duties:
As a Procurement Supply Chain Assistant, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Handling all Far East purchase orders, ensuring accuracy within the LN system and tracking spreadsheets
* Maintaining purchase orders and updating delivery/status dates across the business
* Obtaining, logging, and monitoring air freight quotes
* Raising purchase orders (POs) and maintaining supplier databases
* Completing and issuing invoices and packing lists for customers, including PZ Cussons and Henkel
* Monitoring inventory in LN system to prevent supply issues
* Assisting with annual packaging waste data submissions
* Providing proactive administrative and operational support to the procurement function
* Issuing quality certificates and liaising with customers on behalf of the Quality department
* Providing contingency cover for purchasing and supply chain tasks during absences
* Maintaining main switchboard calls as part of the Customer Service team rota
* Supporting general administrative tasks and other duties aligned with role responsibilities
Essential skills:
To be successful as a Procurement Supply Chain Assistant, you will need:
* Experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain support
* Knowledge of import/export procedures and freight quotations
* Understanding of Incoterms and customs documentation
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other online systems
* Reliable, proactive, and a team player
Desirable experience:
* Experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment
* Exposure to contractor/facilities coordination
* Multilingual skills
Training:
* Industry-specific training will be provided, with ongoing support and development opportunities.
