Job Overview
The post holder will support the delivery of key planning objectives set out by the Nursing Directorate Management Team. Reporting to the Nursing Directorate Business Manager, the post holder will be key in supporting the nursing strategy through delivery of objectives, liaising with Senior Managers across the Nursing Directorate Team and external parties to progress projects, and undertaking general business and administrative duties as required.
Responsibilities
* Forward issues raised to instigate responsive action and be competent in deciding when to escape an issue to the Nursing Directorate and the wider Team.
* Use excellent interpersonal and communication skills in all verbal and written interactions and be able to negotiate and use persuasive skills as required, maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of the Nursing Directorate Team and the wider Divisional managers.
* Communicate business‑sensitive information diplomatically and professionally.
* Receive all forms of communication, ensuring they are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.
* Draft responses to correspondence as required by the Nursing Directorate Management Team.
* Engage regularly with external agencies.
* Occasionally provide non‑clinical advice to patients or clients.
* Use tact and persuasive skills to encourage stakeholders to follow courses of action in order to improve processes and services across the directorate.
* Manage and motivate administrative staff as required, including task delegation.
* Work in collaboration with Deputy Directors of Nursing to ensure the smooth running of all functions across the breadth of the Nursing Directorate Function and the Divisions.
