Transicon Ltd is seeking a Proposals Engineer to join its growing team in Telford. In this role, the successful candidate will play a key part at the front end of the company’s automation projects — engaging with customers, developing technical and commercial solutions, preparing detailed proposals, and ensuring that systems are perfectly matched to client needs.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Transicon’s controls, software, and mechanical engineering teams to translate customer requirements into innovative and practical automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
* Engage with customers to understand project requirements, challenges, and objectives.
* Develop technical concepts and system proposals for bespoke automation and control solutions.
* Prepare quotations, tender documents, and detailed bid responses, ensuring technical accuracy and commercial clarity.
* Use manufacturer tools such as Siemens TIA Selection Tool, Bosch Rexroth Sizing, Rockwell ProposalWorks, ABB DriveSize, and Danfoss DrivePro to specify and select suitable hardware and software solutions.
* Collaborate with engineering, software, and controls teams to define system architecture, scope of supply, and estimated delivery times.
* Create technical and commercial documentation to support bids and presentations.
* Support cost estimation, risk assessment, and value engineering during the proposal process.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal processes and tools.
Candidate Profile

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
* Experience in industrial automation, control systems, drives, and robotics.
* Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal and TIA Selection Tool, Bosch Rexroth IndraWorks, Rockwell Studio 5000, ABB, and Danfoss configuration suites.
* Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
* Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or EPLAN is advantageous.
* Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
* Strong commercial awareness and interest in developing client-focused solutions.
* Collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.
