An exciting opportunity has arisen on B14. The role of the HCA is to assist in maintaining the highest possible standard of care under the supervision of a Registered nurse. To maintain a tidy and welcoming environment for patients and relatives. The staff will be involved with many members of the MDT.
B14 specialises in caring for Maxilo facial, ENT and Urology patients. Tracheostomies and laryngectomies.

The ward is a busy, modern unit with a professional but friendly team delivering high standards of care. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, motivated and committed support worker to deliver high quality holistic nursing care to patients and to join our forward thinking and ever developing team. You should have good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively as part of the team and deal with complex sensitive information in a professional manner.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsible for providing a range of personalised care for patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse including: assisting patients with personal hygiene, toileting, use of continence aids, catheter care, measuring patient output, support patients nutritional and hydration
needs, moving and handling, use of mobility appliances, correct patient positioning, ensuring patient safety, taking specimens and observing patients for changes in condition.
Airway management and catheter and urostomy care. Having an understanding in managing, providing appropriate care and the ability to escalate when needed.
To support the productive operation of the ward environment by undertaking a range of non-clinical activities which contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
