Chief Executive Officer (Fixed term – Initial 18 months)
This role will be key in leading the Trust through a period of transformation, integration and development of our care communities into thriving neighbourhood health hubs.

As a community and acute Trust serving a population of over 250,000, our vision is to deliver the best care in the right place. We employ 2,800 staff who work across community settings and three hospital sites: Macclesfield District General Hospital (MDGH), Congleton War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) and Knutsford and District Community Hospital.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer who can build on these foundations with ambition and compassion. The successful candidate will inspire and support our workforce, nurture collaboration across the system, lead transformation with credibility and authenticity, and ensure our Trust continues to provide safe, effective, person‑centred care.
Qualifications and Experience
Required qualifications, skills and experience include:
* Senior leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within an NHS Trust.
* Evidence of strategic planning and implementation of transformation initiatives.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex change.
Legal and Compliance Requirements
This post requires a Standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, payable by the successful candidate. If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years, you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance. The position is subject to the Fit and Proper Person’s Test for Directors.
