Job Overview
The Head of STEM will provide leadership and vision to deliver excellent student outcomes, quality assurance, and curriculum innovation, in line with OES requirements and the Quality Code. You will lead and support your academic team, working closely with senior colleagues and being accountable for contractually required progression rates to the University. The role also involves responsibility for UFP, IY2, and PMP matters within the programme area.
The ideal candidate will have recent successful academic leadership experience in a relevant discipline and proven ability to engage with a HEI in collaborative development.
About The Role
* Communicate our vision for continuous improvement and achieving student outcome targets.
* Develop partnerships with the host university, liaising with STEM departments to ensure effective teaching and recruitment opportunities.
* Plan and develop academic programmes, resources, and quality assurance processes as part of the Academic Leadership Team.
* Work with university colleagues and report through the centre’s management structures.
* Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and implement actions to improve delivery.
* Organise professional development for the STEM team and wider staff.
* Lead performance management processes, including observations and reviews.
* Manage staff resources effectively across the STEM team.
* Participate in recruitment and ensure compliance with staffing policies.
* Ensure academic standards, learning quality, and accurate information dissemination.
* Oversee module operation, programme review, and new development.
* Ensure quality reporting and compliance with external frameworks.
* Contribute to data analysis, progress monitoring, and remedial actions.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of timetables, assessments, and staff recruitment.
* Support curriculum delivery and development, including virtual learning environments.
* Promote a cost-effective, high-quality student experience.
* Ensure safeguarding compliance and foster relationships with partners, offices, agents, and sponsors.

* Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing change.
* Proven HR experience, including training and recruitment.
* Strong delegation and deadline management skills.
* Experience working with international students and understanding of cultural and welfare issues.
* Data management, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement skills.
