Wigan Council is in search of a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join their dedicated team. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will use your social work expertise to manage complex cases, mentor fellow social workers, and uphold the highest standards of practice. Your commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children will drive your work every day.

Experience and Responsibilities for this role include:
8. You will be managing support workers and or social workers
9. Deputizing for Team Manager in their absence
10. Supporting and mentoring other social workers
11. Experience of working within a busy and fast paced fostering team
12. Knowledge and experience of LADO and OFSTED procedures and notifications
13. Knowledge and experience of LA Stability panels
14. Supporting a small caseload of more complex foster carers, children and young people.
15. Having sound knowledge of times in which support needs to be increased
16. Providing fostering families with support guidance and advice
17. Completing annual reviews and all associated paperwork within timescale
18. Duty rota, being included within the management duty rota – office based, one week at a time
19. Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding
20. Some experience of quality assurance
What we are looking for in a Qualified Social Worker:
21. Social Work England registration
22. Eligible to work in the UK
23. Hold a full UK license
24. Post-qualified experience
25. Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
