We are looking for experienced Mowing Operator Team Leader and Spray Operator Team Leader to lead our vegetation crews across multiple contract sites. These hands on leadership roles involve overseeing daily work planning, quality assurance, safety, and team performance while working alongside your crew. You will lead by example, setting high standards for safe work practices, quality workmanship, and professional customer engagement, ensuring operations are completed efficiently and in line with contract requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and support a mowing and/or spray crew on a day‑to‑day basis across contract sites Work hands‑on alongside your crew, operating mowing plant, spray equipment, and vehicles as required for your role Plan daily work schedules, allocate tasks effectively, and ensure productivity and quality targets are achieved Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, in line with contract requirements and company procedures Carry out spraying operations (where applicable) in accordance with NZS 8409, environmental regulations, and approved spray plans Ensure safe and compliant chemical handling, storage, transport, and application (Spray Operator Team Leader role) Monitor weather conditions, site requirements, and operational risks to ensure safe and effective delivery of works Promote and enforce strong health and safety practices, including PPE use, hazard management, and reporting Complete timesheets, plant and vehicle checks, spray diaries (where applicable), and all required documentation accurately and on time Maintain mowing plant, spray equipment, vehicles, and tools to a high operational and safety standard Liaise with the Contract Supervisor, wider team, clients, and stakeholders regarding work progress and site requirements Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, stakeholders, and members of the public What You’ll Bring Essential Minimum Class 1 & 2 Driver Licence Proven experience in mowing operations and/or parks maintenance Physically fit and able to perform outdoor manual work Strong communication and leadership skills Commitment to health and safety Growsafe (NZS 8409 – Management of Agrichemicals) Certificate Desirable Growsafe Certificate W, T, R & D endorsements Experience leading small teams Traffic Management (STMS) qualification Horticulture or landscaping experience What’s on offer: All permanent and fixed-term employees automatically qualify for Cigna Life Insurance cover.
