Futures are working with a well known and established manufacturing business looking to add a skilled Plater to its fabrication team. This opportunity suits someone from a heavy engineering or industrial fabrication background who enjoys working on large-scale, high-specification components for safety-critical environments. The Plater role focuses on the manufacture and assembly of robust, heavy-duty fabrications, requiring confidence working with thick plate, detailed technical drawings, and tight tolerances. Plater Roles & Responsibilities: Manufacturing and welding large steel fabrications and assemblies Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications Preparing plate materials, including marking out and cutting Welding using processes such as MIG, MMA (Stick), and Flux-Cored (TIG experience advantageous) Handling and working with heavy-section plate material Completing self-inspection of welds to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met Maintaining a safe working environment in line with workshop and site HSE procedures Plater Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrable experience in a Plater Welder / Fabricator role within heavy engineering Background working on structural steel, pressure vessels, plant machinery, or large-scale fabrications Apprenticeship trained or time-served in plating and welding Relevant industry qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or SVQ in Welding or Fabrication If you are looking for your next opportunity and this sounds like you, click apply now.
