You must be able to work on your own initiative, use tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills as well as adhere to all confidentiality and information governance standards. To be flexible to the needs of the service and able to provide cover to all Endoscopy departments across the Health Board when required. Knowledge of hospital systems would be beneficial although full training will be given to the successful candidate. Main duties of the job Deal with telephone queries from both internal and external agencies in a professional manner in accordance with Data Protection and statutory policies and procedures. Escalate to Scheduling team Leader in accordance with policy. Receive calls in a friendly manner from patients who are responding to a partial booking letter. Ensure Endoscopy lists are booked appropriately and to capacity ensure list utilisation. Escalate any list utilisation issues through the appropriate channels. To provide and receive sensitive information to/from patients about their appointment via the telephone. Responsible for updating all waiting list entries. All staff to liaise with colleagues regarding annual leave prior to authorisation from Endoscopy Scheduling Team Leader. To attend all training and development opportunities relating to your role. Weekend working may be required. To work within standard operating procedures, manager available for advice when needed.
