This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team as part of the Urgent Response Team at Salford, while studying via a fully funded apprenticeship route to gain an MSc in Advanced Practice. The overall training programme lasts 24 months (MSc), and upon successful completion, the post will progress to Band 8a. The programme has been accredited by Health Education England.
The Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) training duration varies based on the individual, but it is generally around two years for full-time workers. The programme includes two protected days for university attendance, with the remaining three days for training and placements across the organization to develop necessary knowledge and skills.
Regular education and support will be provided by Urgent Response ACPs and Consultants, with opportunities to gain experience in other specialties. You will ensure evidence-based practice is integrated into all aspects of care and disseminate this knowledge within the clinical area, Trust, and externally as appropriate.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Undertaking a significant clinical caseload to an advanced professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.
2. Developing an extended scope of practice beyond your primary profession.
3. Triage referrals independently or with medical colleagues and make onward referrals.
4. Initiating and participating in audit projects and working alongside the MDT in diagnostic/prognostic research.
We are seeking a candidate with broad clinical experience who is motivated to advance their clinical career. You will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team under supervision, aiming to enhance patient experience through excellent, patient-focused care. Proven broad experience and motivation are essential.
The successful candidate will be paid at Band 7 during the training. Upon completing the MSc in Advanced Practice, you will progress to Band 8a.
