Job Title: Part-Time Safeguarding Officer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safeguarding Officer to join our team in West Berkshire on a part-time basis. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, protection, and wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults within the community.
You will work closely with service managers, social care teams, and partner agencies to respond to safeguarding concerns, carry out risk assessments, and implement protection plans in line with statutory guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns and referrals.
2. Carry out thorough risk assessments and safeguarding investigations.
3. Liaise with multi-agency partners, including schools, health professionals, and police.
4. Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.
5. Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
6. Provide advice, guidance, and training to staff on safeguarding best practices.
Requirements:
7. Proven experience in a safeguarding role within local authority, education, or health settings.
8. Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation (e.g., Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children).
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work autonomously and manage sensitive information with discretion.
11. Enhanced DBS check required.
