About The Department
OneWelbeck Surgery Centre is a state-of-the-art private day surgery facility located in central London, close to the Harley Street medical area. The centre offers a modern, patient-focused approach to day surgery, supported by leading consultants across a wide range of specialities.

The Surgery Centre comprises three laminar flow operating theatres, twelve ensuite patient pods, and three step-up pods. It provides surgical services across orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal, endoscopy, gynaecology, ENT, cardiac, respiratory, urology, OMFS, pain management, and other specialties.

The centre is part of an ambitious and growing organisation, with future plans for expansion both within the UK and internationally, offering excellent opportunities for professional development.

About The Role
As a Junior Scrub Practitioner, you will support the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality perioperative care within the operating theatre. Working under the supervision of senior scrub practitioners, consultants, and the wider multidisciplinary theatre team, you will assist in preparing and maintaining the operating theatre environment to meet the needs of each patient and procedure.

Your role will include undertaking scrub duties in line with local policies and best practice, maintaining aseptic technique, preparing instruments and equipment, assisting during surgical procedures, and supporting accurate documentation throughout the perioperative pathway. You will contribute to patient positioning, safety checks, and the smooth flow of theatre activity, helping to ensure efficient use of resources and a positive patient experience.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, actively engaging in learning and development opportunities to build your clinical skills and confidence. You will be expected to follow guidance, seek support when required, and contribute positively to a supportive, patient-centred theatre team culture.

About You
You are a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or a Registered ODP with HCPC registration, or are nearing completion of your professional training, with an interest in developing a career in perioperative practice. You have completed, or are working towards, scrub training and have some experience in a theatre environment.

You hold a current BLS qualification (or are willing to obtain one) and are committed to developing your knowledge and skills in safe and effective intraoperative care. You are organised, reliable, and able to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy theatre setting.

You have good communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to professional development. You are motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering high standards of patient care, dignity, and safety while developing into a confident and competent scrub practitioner

You are motivated, proactive, and keen to contribute to the continued success and development of a growing, high performing surgical service.
